Manually Migrating a VM Between Hyper-V Hosts

Manually moving VMs between Hyper-V hosts means that you need to perform a manual (or scripted) export of each VM you wish to migrate, copy the files to the target Hyper-V host, and then import the VM on that host. This process takes time because it requires you to wait until the exporting process is done before you can copy the VHD and other VM files to the target host. Once copied, you need to manually import the VM, which doesn't take as much time as the export operation, but still requires time. In addition, the migrated VM will experience a prolonged downtime, due to the fact that it must be shut down on the original host, exported in the shut down state, copied across the network to the target host, then imported and booted.

My computer has no wireless networks found in range?

The hardware is there in device manager and I tried uninstalling drivers and reinstalling. I tried switch new antennae and new internal wireless card. Bluetooth is working fine and wireless button is on. I think it is a software problem. Same nc6230 next to it finds five networks. System restore won't work because the adapter and computer is new and never worked. The last thing I can think of is reinstalling operating system.

Monitor Network Internet Traffic?

I am having problems with my internet connection. I am part of a network and I need a software to track the much each computer is consuming in terms of bandwidth in real time. Ideally it would list all the computers on the network, their current download and upload speed if there is any internet activity. Its not a problem if i need to install a client software on all the computers. That way, when my internet speed drops, I can tell whether there is a problem with the network hardware or if it is simply that the computers on the network are using the internet.

If you added HDMI cabling to an office, would it be configured like network cabling?

Network cabling would have a network drop where you connect your PC to and I'm wondering if the HDMI configuration would have the same design. Would the HDMI drop look like the network drop where you'd use a smaller cable to bridge the connection between your PC and the HDMI drop.

Apple devices call home when on a Wi-Fi network

Apple devices call home when on a Wi-Fi network Whenever an Apple iOS device, whether it's an iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch, connects to a Wi-Fi network, it makes a request to an Apple URL (http://www.apple.com/library/test/success.html). The URL looks harmless, and no personal identifying information is sent to this site. It's not exactly a privacy issue, but it opens the door for potentially scary scenarios.

Home networking software?

By some bizarre fluke I've been able to set up a Microsoft Windows home network. Two computers are connected together and can share files and the internet, and all that jazz. Now I've got a third computer and I want to connect it. The catch? It's ancient and it's running a version of Windows XP called XP Mini, which (whilst only using 30mb ram and 500mb of hard disk space) has absolutley no networking facilities. So I'm looking for a piece of software that can connect this computer to a Windows Network. Will Network Magic do the job? Do I have to be using that to manage my network? Is there any other software that can? I don't pretend to know an awful lot about networking, but does anyone have any good suggestions? I'm not using wireless. It's old-timey cable networking.
