Career Opportunities in Public Sector Bank

Public Sector banks are regularly conducting the Recruitment Drives for the post of Clerks and Officers. According to an estimate there are approximately 7.5 lakh bank jobs in the next 5 years. Two reasons that seems to justify this massive requirement in Public Sector Banks are:

Apart from these reasons, the banks had also received a Directive from the Finance Ministry to provide Banking Services to people in the under banked areas with a Population capacity of 5000 by Sept, 2012.

List of Public Sector Banks in India

There are 21 Public Sector Banks in India as given on the Website of Indian Banks Association (IBA). Public Sector Banks in India can be categorized into 2 parts:

Banks under IBPS: Recruitment in these banks is being conducted by IBPS since July, 2011.IBPS conducts the Common Written Exam (CWE) on the behalf of these Banks and issued the Scorecards to the Qualified Students.
